Quick Action Bandclamps
Protex quick-action Bandclamp fasteners are speeding the inspection and testing of water and air cooled radiators and intercooler systems manufactured by aluminium and titanium welding specialist, AH Fabrications.

According to AH Fabrications' proprietor, Alex Hanczarski: "Protex Bandclamps are the perfect choice for securely attaching air adapters used to pressure test radiators, oil coolers and intercoolers. They combine the benefits of a worm drive hose clip with the speed and convenience of an over-centre fastener.
Bandclamps can also be adjusted quickly to accommodate a variety of adapter diameters". AH primarily employs models from the stainless steel Protex 58 PBC-HT range, which incorporate a triangular platform for the latch to be closed against. This feature optimises the Bandclamp's geometry during its locking action, avoiding the need for excessive operating pressure and/or the subsequent relaxation of grip as the fastener's mechanism goes "over-centre" on small-diameter parts. Platform Bandclamps are suitable for applications from 45-195mm diameter and feature an integral safety catch to prevent inadvertent opening, even under the most severe shock or vibratory loads. Protex offers a variety of Bandclamp designs. Stainless steel "Hi-Torque" standard type 27-HT and their equivalent spring-tensioned 27SPG-HT series products and the lower cost zinc plated mild steel "Hi-Grip" 27-HGR and 27-SPG-HGR, have a worm drive adjustment of 45mm and will secure diameters from 70 to 375mm. Further variants include heavy-duty, rigid type 57-HT models, with a range of diameters from 250 to 615mm which can be pin sealed or secured by lock-wire.
